The Xerox 6085 Professional Computer System
In 1985 Xerox revamped the Xerox Star. The Xerox 6085, codename Daybreak,
included a faster processor and an improved version of the Star application
software, now called ViewPoint.
The 6085 came with:
Like the 8010 the system had several different incarnations. The "XPIW
Xerox Publishing Illustrator's Workstation" was a Star 6085 but with scanner.
The Star 6085 was also packaged as a "Xerox document center." The Xerox
1186 Artificial Intelligence Workstation was the same hardware as the 6085
but with Interlisp-D instead of the Star software.

Up to 3.7 megabytes of RAM
17" or 19" monochrome display
Two button optical mouse
An ethernet controller
A PC emulator card containing an 80186 emulator
An optional external 5.25 inch floppy drive
An optional external cartridge tape drive.
ViewPoint greatly improves upon the original star software. Several
visible enhancements include overlapping application windows and smaller
more efficient title bars.
