Voice recognition
OS/2 Warp 4.0 contains built in Voice dictation software, utilizing an early variation of IBM ViaVoice. You can actually talk to OS/2!

Templates
New documents can be created using the programs which create them, but it's often easier to drag a template to the location you wish to create the new object.  It acts just as a pack of yellow stickies -- you can just keep pulling off a copy of the template.  You will often use templates to create new folders and text files.  You can also create your own templates from new or modified files, just by setting an option in the object's properties.

Folder backgrounds
OS/2 Warp 4 includes the Sun Java runtime, used to run Java programs directly or from a web browser.

Additionally, this picture shows how any folder can contain a bitmap background. This feature has actually been with the OS/2 desktop since version 2. Each folder can have its own background. Backgrounds can be centered, tiled, or resized to fit the window and the text foreground and background color can be changed to keep the text readable. (And no web browser is needed to do this trick!)

Icon editor
Any icon you see in OS/2 can be changed. You can drag any existing icon into the icon window to make the change, or you can even create your own with the built-in icon editor.

Shutting down
OS/2 shutdown. When you shut down OS/2 it remembers which folders and programs were open and restarts them the next time you start OS/2.
