This is the original ad for the Banana Jr. that appeared in newspapers in 1984.

The Banana Jr. is a hilarious character that appeared in the comic strip "Bloom County". The following are scanned from the original newspaper comics:


Oliver's computer is a "Banana Jr. 6000", although the originally printed versions show it as a "Banana Jr. 9000".

Turning off is an important feature still present in today's computers. With new law enforcing technologies such as DRM (Digital Restrictions Management) on the horizon the "off" switch may become a thing of the past.


It is not uncommon for modern computer computers to take an unexpected break.
